ENTRANCE DOORS: BY NUMBER OF LEAVES
SINGLE-LEAF DOORS:
The single-leaf door is used as an entrance door in private homes, shopping centres, office buildings and administrative buildings.
Single-leaf doors are installed in openings no wider than 1 metre. This is the optimum size to ensure a long service life without sagging or warping.
If the entrance opening is larger than one metre, a double-leaf configuration is chosen.
DOUBLE LEAF DOORS:
Double-leaf doors are not only installed in residential, administrative or industrial premises. They are often installed in stairwells or at the entrances of blocks of flats.
Basic advantages of double-leaf doors

They provide more space in the room, making it possible to bring in furniture or large appliances.

The hinges are more durable and do not require frequent adjustments during use, thanks to the load distribution on the two leaves.
The presence of two leaves does not affect the load capacity compared to wooden doors.
Double-leaf doors solve the problem if your house or flat has a non-standard opening. Different door leaf sizes or arches can be made to make use of the space above the door. That is, one door will be standard, while the other will have to be adapted to fit into the remaining gap.
The disadvantages of double-leaf doors are their high price. Especially if both leaves are functional.
If the door is made of poor quality material or if mistakes are made during installation, it will not fully perform its function, which will also affect the service life.
HALF DOORS:
A one-and-a-half storey entrance door is an opportunity not to interfere with the proportions of the façade. The doorway remains in its original form, without enlargements or reductions, and there is no need for complicated renovation work.
One-and-a-half-leaf entrance doors are common in private homes and office buildings. This option is relevant when single doors seem small and double doors are too large.
This type of door is capable of
fully open the entrance, which is not possible with a blind side door;
reduce the load on the hinges, prolonging their service life. A very wide section can wear out the hardware and cause it to deform. A double-leaf unit with the same parameters is more reliable and durable;
regulate free passage by opening one or both leaves.
Half-leaf doors for the home are just as functional as single-leaf designs.
If you order half-leaf doors with glass inserts, their appearance will be much more attractive. The glazing provides additional light from the street and makes the room brighter.
